I must admit I didn't know anything about Robert Dahl. But I'm impressed. Have a look at his bio. In the book A preface to economic democracy. he shows the tensions between equality and liberty, both the political and the economic. You may want to read this short review by Maks Kobonbaev. It's an older book, but totally relevant to our work, here, at Economic democracy for the Americas.
