The website mediachannel.org brings together a whole host of organizations in a common movement to "democratize the media". How can we have, in fact, a democratic economy if we don't have a democratization of the means of information? Click here for a better look at their network.
1800 US$/year is a lot of money for a media subscription; this money doesn't even get redistributed to any affiliates. It's nice to know, though, that they would pay me a 10% commission if I made some sales to my friends.

Admittedly, there are a few respected names that I recognize on the affiliate list. Despite this being a very well-compiled list of independent media publishers (I even saw CJSR on there!), I am weary since the only backreferences (my sample was small and realitively random--I'm not made of time) were subsidary companies of the Globalvisions Inc. conglomerate; Someone once told me, "it's not about who you know, but who knows you," in reference to creadibility.
Though I can admit that this may have been cited as a precipitate of mutualism in action, the credibility question must be resolved before transfer-value is assessed.

'subsidary'=subsidiary
'realitively'=relatively
'creadibility'=credibility
