In the past, I've written a little on ESOPs (Employee Stock Ownership Plans). Have a look at the website of the National Center for Employee Ownership (USA).
Their section on "Ownership culture" is pretty good! As I've already said, it seems to me that ESOPs, however imperfect, CAN be a good first step toward truer economic democracy.
