Mondragon isn't just another cooperative it is the world's largest network of worker cooperatives and an important model of self-management with a yearly revenue of 16.8 Billion Euros (2008). Currently, it is Spain's 7th largest economic entity!

The individual cooperatives are all networked and elect delegates to the 650 member Cooperative Congress which elects a Governing Council, that has day-to-day management responsibility and appoints senior staff. For each individual coop, there is also a Workplace Council that elects an Executive.

This 1981 British documentary called The Mondragon Experiment will give some insight to the history and functioning of the Mondragon Cooperative Network and provides many lessons for the Steelworkers as they embark on their historic cooperative endeavour.
